It was 2011 in a secondhand shop where a Peruvian get to know an Italian friend, who was looking for a music note stand. Simone, before moving to Zürich used to play guitar in Koiné, a band from Bergamo in north Italy.
Coming back from Lima-Peru, Mauricio bought a Fender bass in San Francisco [saved some dollars picking -made in Mexico- model] and started to play with Mexican drummer, Gerardo, who was buying Duff beer the day they have met in his fav store -Liqueurs of the world.
The trio started to build songs and pitch a story… the myth of Jëkoff.

By 2012 tired of playing live covers, “disorder”, “shadowplay”, “she’s lost control”, “transmission” from Joy Division recorded Jëkoff their first Demo "Mi Mundo" in the hills of Zumikon, Zürich at Supertiger Studio.
After receiving noise complaints by neighbors, they rent in 2015 a bunker on the suburbs of Seebach. [In Switzerland, it is still quite obligated to have some shelters around]. Bunker swapped into a music studio where Jëkoff recorded by themselves single "El Paso" and named its place -La Cueva.
Lately in 2017, Jëkoff sealed first album "Basurolo". In the name of all those who did not believe nor paid their debts.
Songs were recorded, artwork was designed, and Covers were printed following a DIY culture. However, mix needed a Peruvian master-guru and sound engineer -Chinen el Saito.

Si ma io non mi lamento, eh, grazie a questo scambio generazionale io ho cominciato la mia grande paliza de la vida, voglio dire, che è la vita che ci pialla, ci piastra, ci forgia, ci stronca, ci taglia giù con l’accetta una bella maschera fatta di un materiale che ci rovina la pelle, ce la irrita, perché uno si rende conto di avere i piedi piatti, i brufoli fino a quarant’anni, le ascelle che puzzan di vecchio, la scoliosi, la cifosi, la scatarratta.
