Ambivalente

about

With this album, the videos and lyrics, the band tells some important fragments of Jëkoff Sedofski's past. Who is this mysterious character?

"I'm not a robot" represents the digital world in which we are so deep. The not much criticized 4th industrial revolution brought me the possibility of making a record in my own studio. I thought that the 4th industrial revolution transformed me into a robot: an intermediate being between data collection machines and tools of digital writing, made for executing actions following a program. Nevertheless one evening, while playing music, I realized it had not happened, therefore I repeated to myself: I'm not a robot.

The composition and recording of the tracks took place in La Cueva, a latin oasis in the town of Zurich, CH. The tracks were mixed by Sergio "el Saito" Chinen (Lima, PE), mastered by Jack Shirley (The Atomic Garden, Oakland, CA). El Paso² is also released in a digital alternative 8D version which was mastered by Spatial Mastering (London, UK).

A kind review of the Album was published by Rockit, who could hear it becvor the release: www.rockit.it/recensione/53158/jekoff-sedofski-non-sono-un-robot_

"Bonasera, algo nunca antes_"
"Non sono un robot_" was created during the most famous event in the last 3 decades. Something never lived through before. "Bonasera señor, bonasera señora" is the cry of a young man through the desert streets of the town of Bergamo in northern Italy. Simple questions and answers by people seized by their anxiety, beyond information and fake news. "Y cuando respira" is the message by the Health Minister in 2020, trying to calm down the Peruvian population, pretending that infected people could transmit the virus only when they breathe. A robot wouldn't pass the infection on...
The track begins forcefully like an e-scooter knocking one down inadvertently or a whiplash, without clarity. It engenders rage and resentment and shows to the worst being on earth, the human, a claim by nature itself.

"Oui, réussite"
When you think that the universe conspires against you with events that at first seem unfortunate, all this is nothing more than the way he smooths the way for everything to become a success, yes, success! In french: Oui, réussite).
Jëkoff Sedofski shows surrealistically how he could improve his day with some luck. Don't lose hope. Some positive melodies could yet be repeated more times, especially after the breakdown. When they thought that everything had been said, they saw that he or she who laughs last, laughs best. Some people have got resources to manage it.
THe intimate bliss of attaining - with little effort - a small goal which was much yearned for subconsciously. Whatch the video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwKcPuDATf8

"Ambivalente"
Every 10-year relationship must have had discussions which escalated high enough. A long relationship of love presents a certain similarity with a band relationship. A mood in which honest discussion inspires to get up, establish structures, create an own musical language with Jëkoff-tituras, and play again remembering those first days, is something ambivalent. Especially if you got to know each other in a flea market.
I appraise my ability of expressing myself artistically AND I'm not able to communicate the simplest thing to the people who are supposedly the closest to me. I fill my head with very boring and yet smartass theories AND I'm not willing to get away from my most irrational passions. I rest in a hideout AND I try to differentiate myself from the world for a few seconds.

"El Paso²"
Laura tells about her romance with Jëkoff Sedofski on an instrumental track. They travelled from south Patagonia, AR, to El Paso, TX. It's the squared version of a song recorded in 2016: jekoff.bandcamp.com/track/el-paso

"Rutina"
Routine eats away the people to the point that they stop being people and become machines. From time to time you have to get out of the routine and enjoy the good things that life has to offer. Sometimes, getting out of the routine becomes a routine itself.
A comfortable vicious circle: Jëkoff Sedofski involuntarily creates a routine to get out of another routine and getting out of the latter routine requires letting himself into a new one.

"Paper of Lies"
The band had 4 members in 2019. At that time of musical creation and discussions about different styles, Jëkoff Sedofski couldn't think of anything better than looking for a feminine voice. Originally the song included lyrics and was sung by that woman, who left us as presents grey smiles and beautiful lies. And the song title. The percussion after the breakdown shows the aggression received in that age of night fights.
Press Play, get on your bicycle at 00:01, ride as long as you can, smile and endure, look once and for all who's beside you and who was left behind, get lost, repair your wheel, you'll remain breathless, very far from here.

Jëkoff Sedofski as a band is:
Gerardo Jara, drums
Mauricio Cayo, bass guitar
Simone Dordoni, guitars
